OMAHA, Neb. -- An area high school student was given detention last week after she was discovered with this year's Abercrombie & Fitch holiday catalog.
The girl's mother said she bought her daughter the catalog and didn't think twice about it, until she learned her daughter had been punished.
The company said it's targeting a college-aged market. The catalog contains ads that show male and female models with bare buttocks and bare breasts, and even an article by "Hustler" magazine publisher Larry Flynt, KETV's Carol Kloss said.
The girl's parents said their daughter's school does not have a policy on pornography. If the incident had occurred at an Omaha public school, however, the student would have received suspension, a district spokeswoman said.
Abercrombie & Fitch also owns Hollister Co., a store which the company says targets the 14- to 18-year-old market.
