UPDATED: 4:37 pm CDT August 25, 2008

A Nissan Altima ran a red light on Highway 370 Monday morning, hitting another car and sending four people to the hospital.

Three people were in the Altima, two of them children. They were taken to Creighton University Medical Center.

The 18-year-old driver of the Altima was ticketed for violating a traffic signal.

The Altima hit another vehicle and spun it around. The driver of the Altima then somehow hit the accelerator and sent the car 300 feet into a field.

A 12-year-old passenger in the car who was wearing a seat belt suffered a head injury from hitting the windshield.

An 8-month-old was hit by an object in the car and suffered a slight bruise.

The driver of the second vehicle was pinned for a while and suffered minor injuries.
