2 Dead In Lincoln; Police Suspect Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

POSTED: 3:48 pm CDT August 18, 2008
UPDATED: 5:39 pm CDT August 18, 2008

Two Lincoln people are dead and police suspect carbon monoxide may be the cause. Police did not suspect foul play as the investigation began Monday afternoon.

Relatives found the bodies around 2:40 p.m. in a home in the 3500 block of North 72nd Street. They went to the home when they tried to reach the couple by phone and did not get an answer.

Police described the victims as a couple in their mid-30s, but investigators say they were unable to offer more details initially because of the high-levels of carbon monoxide in the home.

The source of the carbon monoxide was undetermined Monday afternoon. The names of those found dead was being withheld by Lincoln police.
