Charges Refiled Against Murder Suspect; No Bond Set

OMAHA, Neb. -- An Omaha man accused of shooting and killing a woman was held without bond on Friday afternoon.Charges were dropped against Derrick West-Jones on Wednesday. But first-degree murder charges were refiled before he was released from jail.West-Jones is accused of killing Kathleen Jackson, 20, of Omaha.
In court Wednesday, a judge said there wasn't enough evidence to prove that West-Jones fired the shot that killed Jackson.In 2005, West-Jones was charged in the killing of Wesley Carter, but that case ended with a hung jury.
