Juneteenth Celebrates Jazz, Asks For Status

Jazz and arts were on display at the first Juneteenth Jazz and Arts Festival.

Juneteenth, or the 19th of June, is recognized as a holiday in 29 states. Organizers said they are pushing for Nebraska to become the 30th state to recognize the holiday.

Sunday's festival was in honor of late jazz saxophonist Preston Love and civil rights leader Malcolm X -- both Omaha natives.
