Man Charged With Biting Trooper Waives Hearing

A man arrested and charged with biting an Iowa State Patrol trooper was in court on Monday morning.

Jesse James Baker is accused of crashing a car into a west Omaha neighborhood, then biting a trooper before he jumped off of a bridge to escape, police said.

Baker waived his preliminary hearing and his case was moved to District Court.

He's being held on a $500,000 bond.
