Omaha Police Chief Thomas Warren is serving his last day on Friday.

Warren will retire from the police force after 24 years of service, four of those as chief.

Warren won't say what his new job will be but said it will be announced early next week.

Deputy Chief Eric Buske will take over as interim chief of police.

Omaha Mayor Mike Fahey said the search for a new chief will be conducted internally.
