UPDATED: 3:18 pm CST December 3, 2007

A witness wanted in connection with an Omaha first-degree murder trial was arrested on Friday in Omaha.

Dawayne Kearney was sought as a material witness in the trial of Terry Sellers.

Sellers' trial began last week in connection with the deaths of Victor Ford and Kevin Pierce, who were shot in February 2005. Sellers is charged with conspiring with Taiana Matheny to lure the two on the promise of sex with Matheny. Police said that when Ford and Pierce showed up, Sellers shot them.

Police said Kearney survived an attack by Matheny and Sellers. He was found stabbed behind a building at the Mapleview Apartments in February 2005.

Police said that after he recovered from the stabbing, he disappeared.

The prosecution is seeking the death penalty for Sellers.
